And yet another use for bamboo. The main lobby on the lower level won't have walls to promote openness and let the mountain breezes pass through. While I opted for a tile roof because I don't want free loading critters, the inside ceiling will be of natural woven material to give the thatched feeling, sans critters.

The roof is going on the angkul-angkul and installation of the carved wood panels. Lotus ponds on either side of the stairs command attention and a steady foot. Note to self: keep a spare flashlight near in case the power goes out.

I love the overflow swimming pool and the beautiful textured green stone! Imagine yourself waking up and stepping out on the upstairs deck to survey your surroundings. Birds chirping, breeze rustling through the bamboo.

Some examples of my designs. From L to R, the first necklace is made with a pendant of blue chalcedony, pearl and topaz on a double strand necklace of mixed chalcedony briolettes, pearls, apatite and black onyx. Before entering the villa, the first thing that will be seen is the retaining wall. I love the little alcoves and I'm already thinking about objects to put in them - possibly stone sculptures with candles.

The base cement was installed for the pool and tested for leaks using river water. Many small children from the village came to "take a bath". Next, green stone tiles from Java will cover the base cement. The pool water will overflow to the lower level creating a waterfall. The upstairs bedroom overlooks the pool and view of rice terraces and the mountains to the west.

Freshwater pearls are knotted with contrasting aqua thread for a "hidden surprise". Pendant is Bali crafted silver setting with very large moonstone opal. Swirly clasp is also Bali silver.
